Hey cowpatz.

A friend and I are currently looking into developing a few iPhone applications with some ideas that we have, and could possibly have a go at your idea some time. However, we are by no means experts, as we have never developed an application before.

So no guarantees that we would be able to complete this app, but if you would be interested in us having a go, feel free to contact me by email at 'cuby07ATgmail.com'

Cheers

You could also look at a site like www.iphonefreelancers.com

I want a proper RSS app developed for NZMac.com, but can't afford to pay unfortunately, and got turned down by a couple of developers. I also came across apploop.com for this, but they seem to have been a victim of their own press release. The news that they have supposedly developed quite an automated system for developing RSS aps saw them hit quite hard...even TechCrunch signed up for an app. To date, I've not heard from them and I don't think anyone has had an app come out.

Cheers,

Phil

Thanks for the replies guys. The idea I have is not limited to the i phone but of course you have to start somewhere. The main issue is one of confidentiality, maintaining intellectual, property rights and not having your idea hijacked.
I will search around a little more to see who and what is out there and I will look at the sites you have suggested Phillip. Thanks for the offer Cuby and I may be on touch with you.
Thanks

cowpatz: There are plenty of freelance developers out there as Phil previously mentioned. All of these guys operate on a development contract - you own the IP, they do the work, you own the app at the end. If you're in Christchurch I can recommend a company here for you.

Phil - I might be able to help you out with an RSS app for the site for free, PM with some more information and i'll see whether i've got the skills you need. Just depends how complex you want to get, but XML parsing is easy enough and then it's just a matter of displaying the information how you like.
iPhone developing is great... but in my real job I work for Mango: www.mangolive.com - Management on the Go! We make compliance fun.

I've been waiting for the past few months to see what would happen with AppLoop.com after registering with them to see if they would build me an RSS app using what sounded like a cool process. Sadly they produced nothing and it's not good news...but at least I get a mention on TechCrunch!!

Rats....after AppLoop closed up shop, someone pointed out Taplynx.....which looked really promising to help non-coders like me build an RSS app (they already have some examples out in the wild)....but they just announced how much to license their framework....

taplynx.com/pricing/

Bag goes that idea.

Hi all,

Yeah me too, im in auckland seeking an Iphone developer. Currently work in the industry with web developers, but dont know of many iphone developers.

I have my idea and its simple and easy to do in html, just need to have it done in an iphone app. Basically the app will retrieve XML feeds in a simple clean format...

Anyone know of any developers that are good in Auckland? Ive tried the below for prices...see what they come back with:

www.robertkern.com

www.orsome.co.nz/

www.lesscode.co.nz/

Anyones help is much appreciated
