Tired of the colour of your iPhone 4? Well, now you have an alternative. The white iPhone 4 model is now available in New Zealand as of today from the Apple store and authorised Apple resellers. Its recommended retail price is $1328 for the iPhone 4 32GB model and $1123 for the iPhone 4 16GB model.

White iPhone 4 launches in NZ

Apple claims that the white iPhone is more challenging to manufacture than the black one, which explains it's delayed launch (10 months in fact). Most consumers do prefer a black iPhone, so Apple most likely focused on this colour first in order to meet market demand.

The iPad 2 reported sold out the first week in New Zealand. Initial shipping estimates were 2-3 weeks. It's currently not in stock, but Apple still claims that it  will ship to selected international countries this Friday. It's difficult to understand exactly what's going on in this case as Apple only releases limited information regarding shipments. MacRumors do report that larger quantities are on its way.

In addition to GarageBand, which is new in the AppStore for iPads, Apple has optimized iMovie for the iPad and placed in the AppStore. iMovie allows editing of your home-made HD movies, which can be taken with the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad 2. Eight different subjects can be chosen to give the movie a special touch. Titles, transitions and soundtracks can be adjusted to match your theme.

You can also create a film from your own photos

The Ken Burns Effect recognize the faces in the photos and allows panning while keeping faces in the frame. The film can then be enhanced with graphics and text.

Finally the release we have all been waiting for iOS 4.3 is now ready to download, mine occurred over the weekend and of course the feature du jour is the Personal Hotspot. This means now that you can run your iPad's internet connection off the iPhone's.

If you using a Vodafone plan like I am, then you will be getting 3GB of 3G data per month. This is oodles and I never seem to come close to using it all up. For my iPad I have always had to buy XT prepaid credit, but now I might no longer need to do this, since of course I always carry my phone

The much rumoured March 2 event next Wednesday is confirmed by Apple. Several sources indicate that the new iPad 2 will be announced. You can read abot the announcement at Apple Insider.  Apple sent out the invitation to the media, and it contains an image of an ipad screen appearing as a peel-off.
