Apple today announced it sold its one millionth iPhone 3G on Sunday, just three days after its launch on Friday, 11 July. iPhone 3G is now available in 21 countries—Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the US—and will go on sale in France on 17 July.

Apple today announced that iPhone and iPod touch users have already downloaded more than 10 million applications from its groundbreaking new App Store since its launch late last week. Developers have created a wide array of innovative mobile applications ranging from games to location-based social networking to medical applications to enterprise productivity tools. Users can wirelessly download applications directly onto their iPhone or iPod touch* and start using them immediately.

Apple today announced that more than 500 native applications will be available on the iPhone's App Store when Apple's iPhone 3G goes on sale today. Apple's iPhone provides a breakthrough mobile platform for developers, who have created an incredible array of innovative applications such as stunning action games, advanced medical applications and robust productivity tools for the enterprise. These apps will be available on Apple's revolutionary new App Store, enabling customers to wirelessly download them directly onto their iPhones and start using them immediately. There will be a number of things happening in the next few hours as Apple readies the launch of the iPhone 3G. The .Mac system is currently down and being migrated to the new MobileMe service. At the same time, iTunes 7.7 has just been released and features the ability to download free and purchased applications for your iPod Touch, iPhone and iPhone 3G when you have version 2.0 of the software (or later) installed.

Apple post iPhone 3G guided tour PDF Print E-mail

Apple has posted an updated version of their iPhone Guided Tour...a QuickTime movie that introduces users to many of the functions of the iPhone, with changes specifically for the iPhone 3G. Featuring the gesturing hands of "the introductions guy" (or Bob as he is supposedly called), the guide is a superb run-through of the capability of the iPhone. There's a 30 minute plus version as well as a shorter "What's new" feature of about 10 minutes specifically about the 3G model.
