Apple
In a surprise move, Apple appears to be allowing the introduction of web browser applications into the iPhone and iPod Touch App Store, as reported by MacRumors.com. Applications include Incognito ($2.59) and WebMate ($1.29), with two others listed not available in the iTunes NZ store at this point.
The move is somewhat surprising as previously Apple have rejected applications on the basis that they copied functionality or forthcoming features of the iPhone, most notably, an application to download podcasts, which is now possible in the iTunes application.
It is not clear at this stage why Apple has allowed for these applications to be published.
