Wired is reporting a small change to the Apple Developer's Center that lets those who have submitted apps know where their app is in terms of the approval and publishing process. Ignoring the variety of issues surrounding which apps do and don't get approved, one of the things that previously occurred is that a developer submitted their app and then just waited. Just witness the following tweet from an app developer...

Goodbye #Joomla Admin Mobile v1.5. You're in Apple's approval hands now. Good luck! I hope to see you live in a week...

At least now, with this minor change, there is a little more transparency for developers than just seeing their app disappear into the approval process. More details at http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/11/apple-iphone-app/
