What appears to be mostly a bug fix from Apple, version 3.1.2 has been released today for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. This 240-300Mb download can be installed using the instructions detailed here. Issues resolved on the iPhone including waking from sleeping, intermittent issues with cellular networks after a restart and crashes during video stream. As yet it doesn't appear that any new features have been introduced in this update.
