Apple
We may not be able to buy and subscribe to The Daily here in New Zealand, but its launch today has brought about new potential for iOS developers. As Ars Technica state, iOS developers should also be able to offer in-app subscriptions within their apps and within iTunes in the future. This will take some adjustments to how credit card payments are managed and Ars suggest that renewal payments (needed for subscriptions) will be managed from a users iTunes account. Obviously Apple will likely take their cut of these transactions, but a recent opinion piece of Macworld rightfully suggests that perhaps these fees (and in-app purchases) should be less than the standard 30% that Apple take.
