AdMob have released their August 2009 Mobile Metrics Report and it shows the increasing dominance of the iPhone OS's, and that the iPhone and Android OS's are increasing in usage at the expense of legacy mobile systems such as Symbian and Windows Mobile. However it's clear that the iPhone is far out in front of its nearest competitor (Symbian) whose share has dropped significantly. The report "is a reflection of the data flowing through our network each month. The statistics do not represent handset sales or unique devices in the market, rather they represent the relative mobile usage we see from the sites and apps in our network".
