Kiwi developers release augmented reality apps

HIT Lab NZ is a pretty interesting place to visit. A few years back whilst it was based on the University of Canterbury campus, I got to visit the lab and see what they were up to. At one point we were all shepherded into a room and put on 3D goggles to see some neat research in action. It appears that HIT Lab have spun off a portion of their work into developing games under the banner of Slapdown Games (http://www.slapdowngames.net/ ) . Their first two games are already out the door and they're pretty neat augmented reality games, Splatter Bugs (iTunes link) and Drift (iTunes link). Check them out!

That's very cool. The HIT Lab does do some pretty neat stuff and I've always wanted to go see what they're up to.

Those two games look pretty cool and it'll be interesting to see what these guys do next!
