After weeks of internet speculation, Vodafone New Zealand have announced an impressive base price for the iPhone 3G of $199 NZ for the 8 Gb model. This price is well under the price many have speculated and below the conversion rate of the $199 USD phone price. However it should be made clear that this price comes with the requirement of an ongoing two-year contract with Vodafone, with full price and plan details of those being released tomorrow at 10am.
Their email states....
This Friday 11 July at 00:01am, the new iPhone 3G hits the shelves in three Vodafone stores nationwide. They are:
Vodafone - 171 Queen St, Auckland City
Vodafone - 358 Lampton Quay, Wellington
Vodafone - 681 Colombo St, Christchurch
The iPhone 3G will be available in other Vodafone stores from 9am, check out the stores map for locations at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/maps/iphone-stores.jsp
You'll also be able to buy from the Vodafone Online Shop on Friday 11 July at 00:01am.
The iPhone 3G starts from $ 199 on a two year contract.
We'll be releasing full price and plan details tomorrow at 10am, Tuesday 8 July 2008, at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/iphone
Stocks are strictly limited.
