Where is the iPhone 4? Not NZ

Today was meant to be the day. In Australia, the iPhone 4 went on sale successfully, but here in New Zealand, not only is it hard to get any news on the iPhone 4, previous signs of it, such as details on the Vodafone NZ website, have mysteriously disappeared. Those that decided to queue at stores have found the iPhone 4 isn't available. MacRumors is reporting that the issue is due to shipping errors, but even if that were the case, the lack of details on both the Apple NZ PR site and no other mention than "Coming soon" on the online Apple store, suggests things are not going well at all. iPhone 4 available in Vodafone stores The Vodafone website had been updated to state that online sales will be available in a few weeks and implies that the iPhone 4 is available in stores now with a search engine to locate your nearest store. Slightly ironic that the image on the main page says "This changes everything. Again" Damn straight! Still no word from Apple but this really hasn't been handled well at all by both parties. Phil

Rumor has is that iPhone 4 will be available in store at Vodafone retail stores from midday today and online from the Apple Online Store at 7pm

Thanks, there's quite a few rumours at the moment (VFNZ have apparently dispelled your comment about afternoon sales already) and I am trying to get confirmation from Apple. Meanwhile you can now see iphone plans on the VFNZ website.

Confirmed....some iPhone available from VFNZ from midday.... http://www.vodafone.co.nz/iphone/ The iPhone 4 is available at selected Vodafone stores today, 30 July 2010 from mid-day. Due to limited stock, iPhone 4 will only be available to new or existing customers signing to a new on account term contract.

Picked mine up today @1:00pm. There were a few going out the store. Upgrade process very easy, all over in about 10 minutes. No sign yet of the dreaded signal loss, but I've not really tried. Will still get a bumper when the app is released here.
