Orsome Software have secured a feed to official MetService forecast information to include in a native application for your iPhone, or iPod Touch. The built in weather app did show temperatures around the world, but its not much use when the data for us was not particularly accurate. Now you can see the urban forecast for all available areas in New Zealand, along with forecast High/Low going out up to 4 days.

For those that know how to read an isobar map, the latest issued situation chart can be viewed, panned and zoomed right on the device, updated several times each day. But we didn't stop there. The same program lets you view tide information supplied by LINZ. We have all primary and secondary ports covered have data going out till 2010.
SunRise/Set times and a graphic showing the tide makes this very useful for boaties, fishermen, those that like water sports, or anyone else who just wants to see wizzy cool charts drawn on their phone. :-)
Search for WeatherNZ on the iTunes appStore. Available now.
