Many websites are reporting that a fix to some of the issues iPhone users are experience is under way and likely to be released by the end of September. PCWorld reports that the issues of slow data speeds and poor 3G call reception is being worked on. The issues appear to be related to the use of a chip inside the iPhone 3G and the operating system of the iPhone and how it utilises that 3G chip...however differing reports lay the blame at the two different components. Perhaps the best article to discuss the issues is the Business Week article What's Behind the iPhone 3G Glitches, that does suggest the issue may mainly be with those in high usage 3G areas and that a software update (to either fix the operating system or provide a firmware update) my be the solution.

When will New Zealand see the iPhone officially go on sale? It's a question that many have attempted to speculate on, but the details to produce any knowledgeable answer are scarce. Most of the comments circulating in the community are based on rumour, hints, knowledge of the technologies used in the iPhone, as well as a looking at Apple and the release of the iPhone in other countries..or the speculation for those countries.
