NZMac.com and NZiPhone.com have been acquired by NZ Tech Media Limited, who will continue to operate both sites in much the same manner and format as they are now. NZMac.com – supporting the New Zealand Macintosh Community, and NZiPhone.com – the home of the iPhone in New Zealand, will continue to provide users with all the latest news on Apple products, as well as a vibrant community section, discussion forums and reviews.
Philip Roy, the previous owner of the sites for over 8 years, will remain behind the scenes for a number of months to ensure a smooth transition and hand-over of the sites to NZ Tech Media Limited.
Philip Roy comments...
I'm absolutely thrilled that the sites are to remain available as a prime location for Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod users within New Zealand to come for support, the latest news and to share their views on great Apple technologies. I am so happy that the sites have found great new owners and I wish them (and all users of the sites) the very best.
NZ Tech Media Ltd comment...
We feel very fortunate to be able to acquire the two premier Apple-user sites in NZ, NZMac.com and NZiPhone.com. NZ Tech Media Limited are committed to continue the same quality news and information that is currently available on the sites, and providing a platform for Apple users and enthusiasts to share their knowledge, experiences and concerns with other users about all things Apple.
We are impressed by the Apple-user community that Philip Roy has helped connect up and bring into one place, and we hope to continue to work with and grow this particular community.
Our aspirations for the sites are simply to keep up the good work that has already been done by Phil, to grow the sites by adding relevant content and continue to connect with the loyal community of users. We will no doubt have to look at ways that the sites can generate some income to pay for the cost of running them etc. This is probably achievable through banner ads and Google Adsense etc, but we will be guided by our users to a large degree as to how commercial they want these sites to become.
We look forward to getting started shortly and want to take this opportunity to thank Phil for the work he has done to date in creating an amazing Apple-user community, and to that community of users who share their passion for Apple products, that helps us all when trying to solve a curly tech problem or what to look out for or avoid for when choosing Apple or other consumer electronic products.
Best Regards,
The team at NZ Tech Media Ltd
