iToner is ideal for a non iTunes user like me. If after installing iToner and running it an instruction pops up asking you to connect iPhone. Of course plugging in iPhone also opens iTunes and iPhoto. Then there is an on screen iPhone outline and one drags the desired ringtone to it. Then with next synch the ringtone is added to iPhone and it is just a case of selecting that Ringtone in Settings on the iPhone. Yes it did cost $15US but it was the simpler way for me to do the deed.
Does what it says it will and does it well, my thoughts are that it is a little pricey but have upgraded at no further cost so remain pleased with the purchase.
