NZiPhone.com accepts Press Releases from companies wanting to announce new iPhone related software or hardware, as well as accepting listings of iPhone applications and hardware. However there are strict guidelines to follow and criteria to meet and you may not submit both.
Product listings
- The product listing will appear in the User Reviews section of the website. This section has quite specific fields of information that relate in many instances to similar information on the iTunes App Store (in the case of software)
- The listing must be about an iPhone-related product that must be available to New Zealand users, either via a distributor/reseller in New Zealand, electronic download or purchase and delivery to New Zealand
- The listing must relate to a new or unlisted product and not an update to a product already listed (use the Press Release section for this)
- The product should not be what is referred to by Apple as a "Web App"
- The listing must be submitted by each company via the appropriate form, which requires user registration on the site
- Inappropriate submissions may result in your user account being closed
- Your listing gets emailed to one person....this isn't an opportunity to try to contact NZiPhone.com users
Here's the process to follow:
Register on the site - NOTE - Product listings appear published under YOUR USERNAME, so you must therefore register using your genuine name and business email address or a Business related name and email address- Login to the site
- On the main page, a new item will appear called "User Menu" as you see on the right. Note that it appears on the main page, not part of the drop-down menu system for the site.
- Click on the menu link "Submit product listing"
- You will be taken to the page (shown below) that requires you to select the product type and category, and then complete the details about the product. Do NOT use the form to promote your business. Only the product. Note that up to 6 images (such as screen shots) can be included. Please complete the keywords and meta tags sections.
Press Releases
- The Press Release must be about an iPhone-related product, that must be available to New Zealand users, either via a distributor/reseller in New Zealand, electronic download or purchase and delivery to New Zealand
- The product or service must not breach the advertising policy on the website
- The Press Release must relate to a specific new event (e.g., product launch, major update) or news item (e.g. conference) and not simply as an attempt to gain free advertising, sales or publicity (e.g. a Press Release that describes favourable reviews or awards), with an exception for Press Releases related to reviews and awards that mention and link to NZiPhone.com content (e.g., an NZiPhone.com review)
- The Press Release should not be about beta applications requiring testing (i.e., a "call for testers")
- The product should not be what is referred to by Apple as a "Web App", however if you have a significantly unique web-based product for the iPhone, then this will be considered
- The Press Release must be submitted by each company via the appropriate form, which requires user registration on the site

- Please end the press release with your contact details and an indication if you wish to have these published with the article. If you don't indicate it will be assumed your contact details are to be made public.

- Your Press Release gets emailed to one person....this isn't an opportunity to try to contact NZiPhone.com users
Provided the Press Release is relevant, of sufficient detail (i.e., not brief) and of interest to New Zealand iPhone users, the Press Release will be published almost word for word (submissions must include contact information and be ready to publish 'as is') although NZiPhone.com reserves the right to edit your submission.
Press Releases that are not providing news but are merely attempts at promotion, will not be published. If you wish to gain promotion on the site, please either advertise or consider providing material for review.
Press Releases full of hyperbole or marketing hype are also unlikely to be published. Please be realistic in your Press Release. Plain words, simple language and an explanation of any technological terms will benefit both you and the readers of the Press Release. Company backgrounds that many Press Releases mention will not be included - mostly as these tend to be very laden with hyperbole.
If you wish to send a Press Release in advance of the public announcement, please state this clearly and indicate when the release can be published using local (New Zealand) times and dates.
If you want to link to the Press Release once published on this website, we ask that you also include a link to the main page of the site using the full website address in lower case, e.g., www.nziphone.com

- NZiPhone.com reserves the right not to publish and no communication will be entered into over this decision
- Submissions that are poorly spelt or edited will not be published
- NZiPhone.com reserves the right to edit submissions to better fit the website
- By using this form and registering your name and email address, you confirm that you are the authorised representative of the organisation in the submitted press release.
